Webinar: Blended cement and new SCMs, the pathway to success

Matt Spencer, VP of customer solutions, and Cheng Qi, Director of R&D, will jointly discuss the company’s long history and current work of developing blended cement and SCMs (calcined clay, natural pozzolans, coal ash products etc.) to advance Ash Grove’s commitments to lowering emissions and enhancing resilience in the built environment. The webinar will detail Ash Grove’s existing and new low-emission concrete solutions. Laboratory-scale studies and field construction trials will be highlighted.  The webinar will also highlight the need for accelerated code and specification changes, testing methods development, and solutions-driven approach in deploying low-emission concrete at the jobsite.
Presenters:
Matt Spencer is the vice president of customer solutions for Ash Grove. In this role, Matt is responsible for research and development, new product and technology development, and customer experience. He has spent a 25-year career in the building products industry in a variety of technical and market-facing roles. Matt is a graduate of Northwestern University with an MsE. Â
Cheng Qi has more than 20 years in the cement and concrete business supporting troubleshooting, product development, quality excellence, and sustainability advancements. Cheng graduated from Purdue University with a PhD specializing in cement and concrete materials.
