Federación Interamericana Del Cemento and NEU to Work Together

The Federación Interamericana Del Cemento (FICEM) has signed an agreement to work with NEU: An ACI Center of Excellence for Carbon Neutral Concrete, to drive research, education, awareness, and global adoption of the use of carbon neutral materials and technologies in the built environment. Established by the American Concrete Institute, NEU leverages ACI’s role as a world-leading authority and resource for the development, dissemination, and adoption of consensus-based standards for concrete design, construction and materials.

Six people lean over a University of Miami College of Engineering table with their hands in the middle; a University of Miami backdrop banner is behind them and the American Concrete Institute logo is projected on a large screen above them.

NEU is envisioned as an opportunity for new carbon reduction technologies to enter the industry and can direct necessary resources to accelerate the adoption of those technologies. In order to be truly effective, the efforts of NEU are aimed worldwide, and the agreement signed by FICEM and ACI is an important step that begins their mutual sharing of information and resources with the goal of reducing the carbon footprint of the built environment.
