As the Fall 2025 ACI Concrete Convention in Baltimore, Maryland, approaches, it’s the perfect time to explore the sessions focused on low-carbon cement and concrete. Among the highlights, NEU: An ACI Center of Excellence for Carbon Neutral Concrete will host a session on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, titled Carbon-Reduction 201: What’s Next for Concrete Stakeholders.

This session aims to bring together key stakeholders to discuss what’s needed to reach their carbon-reduction goals, address the challenges they face, and explore how to foster sector partnerships—going beyond simply understanding concrete PCRs, LCAs, and EPDs.

Learning objectives for this session include:

  1. Identify key stakeholders in carbon-reduction initiatives and analyze their specific contributions to achieving carbon-reduction goals;

  2. Examine new national and international legislation, regulations, and guides influencing carbon-reduction, and evaluate their impact on various stakeholders;

  3. Propose strategies to facilitate sector partnerships that accelerate carbon-reduction among stakeholders;

  4. Identify common challenges stakeholders face in carbon-reduction initiatives and propose strategies to address reluctance in carbon-reduction.

NEU’s session is only one of many addressing low-carbon cement and concrete. Each day of the Convention will feature at least one session on this critical topic.
